Justice now also available in English

English-speaking chamber for commercial matters at District Court of Frankfurt am Main (Landgericht Frankfurt am Main) starts January 2018

As Brexit looms, it is still unknown how British judgments will be enforced within the EU. Frank-furt now makes a push to establish itself as a hub for commercial litigation. The district court of Frankfurt am Main sets up an English-speaking chamber for commercial matters start-ing January 2018. In this new chamber it will be possible to conduct oral hearings in English.

The new chamber strengthens Frankfurt as an international dispute resolution centre. Frankfurt is already headquarter for banks and international companies and international law firms in Germany. With the expected relocation of many international banks and financial institutions from London to Frankfurt, Frankfurt expects a growing demand for judicial services in Frankfurt.

International parties who prefer litigation to arbitration now find an alternative in Germany's finan-cial capital.
