Employment Law Day

Events /

Our new ‘flexible working environment’ raises questions not only about spatial flexibility but also about flexibility in terms of working hours. This includes, in particular, the concept of so-called ‘trust-based working hours’. The ECJ caused quite a stir with its judgement of 14 May 2019 (C-55/18), in which it made it clear that employers are obliged to record employees’ working hours – and thus not just any ‘overtime’. There is now debate as to whether this has heralded ‘the end of trust-based working hours’ and whether the ‘time clock is making a comeback’.

We would like to discuss the implications of this – as well as other recent developments in working time law – with you at our

Employment Law Day on Thursday, 30 January 2020, from 2.00 pm at our office in Frankfurt am Main.

. In this context, we will also discuss issues such as working time accounts, compensation for overtime, statutory limits on flexibility, and ‘compulsory leave and time off during the crisis’.

The second part
